the sounds are often subtle or have a wide frequency range and so listening with headphones or conventional speakers is recommended .

to be in a place, one that overwhelms and can only be slightly touched upon, creates memories that seem to hover and shift. a few are set, like cornerstones perhaps, whilst others find their own position at each moment. recording, in whatever sense, becomes either document or abstract. these sketches (suketchi in japanese) represents the simplicity and freedom of field recording to remain, allowing the sounds to still hover.

36 page photo book on uncoated paper + 180 minutes + of field recordings + a 60 page pdf of photographs from trips to japan in 2011 and 2012.

recorded during a performance tour in 2011 and residency in 2012.
